I had a mixed experience at Grant Plaza Hotel. On the plus side, the location in the heart of China Town was super convenient for exploring nearby shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay easier. However, the room itself left a lot to be desired; it was really old, a bit noisy, and cleanliness was an issue. Overall, it was a decent stay but not without its drawbacks.

Rooms
5.0
The room was small and a bit worn down, showing signs of age, but suited for just sleeping. The noise from outside and within the building was noticeable, which affected my comfort.
Service
9.0
The staff were really kind and helpful. They accommodated my room change without any hassles, which I really appreciated.
Location
9.0
The location is perfect, right in China Town and not far from other major attractions in San Francisco. It's great for exploring the local vibe, but the noise could be a bit much at times.
Dining
8.0
I didn't dine in, but I loved the proximity to tons of vibrant restaurants and shops in the area. Plenty of options to explore!
Facilities
6.0
Basic facilities were provided, but nothing too fancy. I think more attention to cleaning would go a long way.

5.4/10

I had a mixed experience at the Grant Plaza Hotel. On the positive side, the location in Chinatown was fantastic for exploring the vibrant neighborhood, plus my room was spacious enough for my needs. However, I encountered several discomforts, such as a lack of basic amenities and a bit of noise at times. Despite this, it's a great option for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over luxury.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and met my needs for a place to sleep, but the mattress was quite hard and the furniture was minimal.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth despite the hotel's age.
Location
10.0
The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Chinatown, making it easy to explore the area and even close to major attractions.
Dining
6.0
The complimentary breakfast was quite basic, but given that it was free, I really can't complain too much about it.
Facilities
5.0
The lack of a fitness center and poor elevation system were drawbacks, as the elevator felt old and made some unsettling noises.

My stay at Grant Plaza Hotel was a mixed bag. While the location in Chinatown was fantastic for exploring, the room itself left a lot to be desired. I found the bed uncomfortable, and the overall maintenance seemed lacking. The staff were polite, but the amenities did not meet my expectations.

Rooms
5.0
My room was small with a very uncomfortable bed. There was no air conditioning, and the bathroom showed signs of mold. The hotel provided some basic toiletries, but overall, the room felt quite dated. I was grateful for the hot water in the foyer, but the lack of kettle and fridge was disappointing.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, though sometimes I felt they were more focused on paperwork than providing personalized assistance. They did help with some room issues but having to set things up myself, like the mattress pad, was inconvenient.
Location
10.0
The hotel’s location is arguably its best feature. I found it easy to walk to Union Square, the Ferry Building, and many restaurants. It felt very safe, even when returning at night, which was a big plus for me.
Dining
5.0
Unfortunately, there wasn't any breakfast served at the hotel. I noticed there was self-serve coffee available only in the mornings, which felt quite limited. I had to find nearby dining options for meals.
Facilities
5.0
There were some issues, such as no working elevator during my stay, which meant climbing six floors with my luggage. I also noticed a general lack of upkeep in shared areas which was disappointing.

I had a mixed experience at Grant Plaza Hotel. The location is fantastic, right in Chinatown and close to many restaurants and public transport, making it easy to explore the city. However, my room was incredibly small and the noise levels from outside were quite disruptive. The bedding was uncomfortable, which made my stay less pleasant than I had hoped.

Rooms
5.0
My room was very tiny, barely enough space to move around. The bed was incredibly hard, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. The bathroom was actually bigger than the room itself, which felt odd. I noticed a lack of airflow and appreciated the bathroom's cleanliness, but the overall experience was disappointing.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, which was a highlight of my stay. I could check in early, and there were complimentary items available. However, the overall value for the price paid felt lacking.
Location

Being just a block away from the Dragon Gate in Chinatown was perfect for my needs. I loved how close I was to Union Square and various public transportation options, which made getting around super easy.
Dining
7.0
While I didn't dine extensively at the hotel, I appreciated the nearby restaurants offering gourmet products. Having all those food options in Chinatown was definitely a plus.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had basic facilities, and although it was clean, it felt a bit dated. There were no fancy amenities or extra comforts like air conditioning, just a fan and thin windows that didn’t block out much noise.

I found Grant Plaza Hotel to be a decent option in Chinatown. The location is unbeatable, being right in the heart of the neighborhood. While the rooms could be a bit cramped and the beds were a bit hard, the overall experience was satisfactory. The friendly staff and reasonable pricing made up for these minor drawbacks.

Rooms

My room was quite large, clean, and comfortable. although the bed felt a bit hard for me. I did appreciate the renovated bathroom, which was a nice surprise.
